I have been remiss in writing but it just seems every time I think about it, I am never at my laptop! I have come up with some great blogs while walking along the beach this summer. By the time I get home from my walk, I am sidetracked with paperwork, answering questions with my teams on the diet forum or just life in general interferes. It has been a great summer for the most part. We have had our warm weather last through September which considering we didn't get any until almost July - this is a good thing. I have spent much time walking the beach which has kept me sane. I have found that I really needed those walks. I could let my brain go in whatever direction it needed to. To be able to free associate, process and let some of the shit of the day go. It settled me which isn't always an easy thing to do. Dealing with my daughter's ongoing saga is just plain stressful. Every day I am not sure what drama is going to hit with her.
Today is the first day in months that I managed to get through all of my email and forum work in a couple hours AND got caught up with my blog reader posts. My google reader was just plain scary. Every day I was constantly reminded that I had 1000 plus posts to read. I follow approximately 200 blogs, a lovely cross between food porn and sex blogs. I peruse the food blogs, searching for new recipe ideas to stimulate my love for cooking and adapting recipes for my South Beach Diet crew. I peruse the sex blogs to stimulate so many other things! And those sex bloggers have been busy this summer. There was plenty of drama at the beginning of the summer thanks to one blogger and his plea to the sex community. It seemed to initially fracture the community but that has settled down finally (once the skeletons came tumbling out of the closet).
Now several of my favorite NY sex bloggers are putting together a new project. A blogger calendar which will be sold to benefit Audacia Ray's Sex Work Awareness Project. Every penny received from the sale of these calendars will be used to help erase the stigma associated with sex work and workers through education and the spread of information. Twelve of NYC’s most dynamic literary and sex positive women -writers, sex educators, film makers, and ordinary women - joined together to be photographed in classic burlesque style. They sold days that you could put your message on - I represented the west side and bought two days, my birthday and our anniversary. Calendars will be going on sale soon so don't miss out if you want to support the cause or just want a cool calendar. More info on the New York City Sex Bloggers Calendar website.
